There’s something so magical about the engagement season.

It’s not just about preparing for a wedding—it’s about celebrating this unique moment in your story, the season where love is new and full of anticipation. Engagement photos are more than just pretty pictures; they’re about capturing the way your love feels—the laughter, the comfort, the joy of just being together.

Rachel and Rodrigo chose to have their engagement photos at a place that holds so much meaning to them: Chateau Morrisette. It’s where they got engaged, and they wanted to return to the same dreamy setting to celebrate this next chapter of their journey together. And let me tell you—it couldn’t have been more perfect.

We met on a breathtaking golden evening, grabbed a bottle of their favorite wine as a couple, Our Dog Blue, and began wandering the grounds. We started in front of the Chateau itself, where tall hydrangeas bloomed and sunlight poured into the frame, creating stunning sun flares (some of my very favorites from the session!). From there, the evening unfolded so naturally.

What I loved most about photographing these two was how relaxed and genuine they were. The focus of this session wasn't on getting the “perfect pose,” but instead simply enjoying the evening together. They laughed, held hands, cheered their wine glasses, and admired the sunset as it wrapped them in golden light. Their connection shined through effortlessly, and that’s exactly what made their images so beautiful.

Chateau Morrisette is truly one of the dreamiest locations for an engagement session. Every corner feels like a little storybook—gardens, mountain views, ivy-covered stonework, and soft rolling hills. There are so many nooks of beauty, each with its own magic.

On top of the perfect setting, Rachel and Rodrigo were an absolute joy to spend time with. They were friendly, easygoing, and full of laughter—dream clients in every way. It felt less like “taking photos” and more like just hanging out with friends on a perfect summer evening.

One of the reasons I love engagement sessions so much is that they’re also the perfect “trial run” before your wedding day. You get to see how you feel in front of the camera, how your photographer works, and if your personalities click. It’s a chance to relax, have fun, and walk away with photos that truly feel like you.

Rachel and Rodrigo’s session at Chateau Morrisette was the perfect reminder of why I adore capturing love stories. When the location is meaningful, the light is golden, and the couple is focused on simply enjoying each other—pure magic happens.
